The Southwest Georgia Regional Airport has a new fire truck with the latest technology
ALBANY, GA. -- The Southwest Georgia Regional Airport has multiple fire trucks, however Airport Director Yvette Aehle says two of them have exceeded their life cycle and it was time for some new equipment.
The new fire truck costs $662,000 and the FAA paid for 95% of the costs, leaving the city of Albany approximately $33,000 to pay. Aehle says the new truck makes the entire airport campus safer. “This vehicle tops out at about 70 mph and it can get to anywhere on our 900 acres with ease” says Aehle.
The airport must have fire fighting services in order to qualify to receive certain corporate flights like UPS shipments.
