Dougherty County Superintendent featured on national talk show

ALBANY, GA. -- Dougherty County Superintendent Dr. Joshua Murfree was featured on a talk show on MSNBC Sunday June 13, 2010.

Murfree spoke about a recent study on dropout rates and the difference between white and black students.  Murfree told FOX 31 News that parental involvement is the key to educational success.

“It’s about the dropout rate, it’s about parental involvement, it’s about a pipeline to prison that we can control here in Dougherty County if we come together.  If a parent is involved with their child’s education, 83% will graduate from high school” says Murfree.
