The Georgia State Patrol expects a high number of incidents this holiday weekend that began Friday evening and will continue into Monday morning.

GSP estimates they could see 1,972 crashes, 696 injuries, and 15 traffic related deaths within the 78-hour holiday weekend.

Officials say the number can be reduced if people wear seatbelts and don’t drink and drive.
