A Clayton County grand jury has declined to indict a teacher who was fired after being accused of threatening to a student
(AP) -- JONESBORO, Ga. (AP) - A Clayton County grand jury has declined to indict a teacher who was fired after being accused of threatening to a student.
The teacher, 34-year-old Randolph Forde, was arrested last October on a charge of making terroristic threats and was fired after a school system investigation. Forde says the grand jury's finding on Wednesday that there was no probable cause to believe a crime occurred is a relief.
Forde says the 11th-grader at Mundy's Mill High School made up accusations, including that Forde offered a classmate $50 to "put a hit" on him.
Forde says the student was retaliating for Forde pulling him out of class.
Forde says he wants his job back. The school system says that issue is closed.
