Two masked black men robbed their Hispanic neighbors at gunpoint early Monday morning on Pinson Road
Police say two men kicked in their neighbor’s door and robbed them just before 5 a.m. Monday morning. One of the men had a gun and the other had a crow bar.
Derek Roberson and Rodney Puckerin, both 29-years-old, are charged with burglary and armed robbery.
Police say they were able to solve the crime quickly because of an anonymous tip and Bubie the police dog who is trained to sniff gunpowder. Bubie performed an air scan and alerted police to the exact area where the firearm was recovered.
Police say this was the first time Bubie has assisted in a solved crime.
