Three appointed officials on the Dougherty County payroll may see their pay cut as well.

At Monday’s finance committee meeting, commissioner Chuck Lingle suggested that County administrator Richard Crowdis, County attorney Spencer Lee, and County Police Chief Don Cheek participate in a 4.6% cut in their pay, which is equal to twelve days of unpaid vacation. Commissioner John Hayes was one of the commissioners who voted to pass the motion.

“It certainly shows the kind of people that we've got in these positions that they're willing to step forward and say, 'look, I’m gonna do just that, I’m gonna lead by example, I’m gonna take the same sacrifices that I’m asking you to make', and so I think it's the honorable thing to do,” Said Hayes.

The County Commission will vote on the matter in two weeks.
