“Landfill Gas to Energy Project”

The MCLB, Dougherty County, and Chevron Energy Solutions teamed up for a new energy saving initiative.

The project is called the “Landfill Gas to Energy Project.”  Gas will be pumped into a generator where it’ll create electricity of 1.9 megawatts to power part of the Marine base.

“We see this as the beginning of a number of initiatives on the renewable energy side and policy side to help us reduce our carbon admissions reliance on foreign oils and increase the amount of renewables that we use on the base,” said MCLB Commander Col. Terry Williams.
