13 public works truck drivers competed in the third annual Truck Rodeo Monday
Local public works departments faced off in the third annual Truck Rodeo Monday. It’s part of National Public Works Week.
Defending Champion Pete Tracey with Lowndes County let FOX 31 cameras in the dump truck as he competed to save his title. Tracey is one of 13 public works truck drivers to compete in the dump truck rodeo. They have to back up, drive through cones, and other obstacles. The fastest time wins.
“It’s a good training exercise for our folks,” said Dougherty County Public Works Director Larry Cook. “Kinda check their skills against other levels of skills and also going through these obstacles, shows them areas they need to work on.”
Public works week ends Sunday.
