It’s Law Enforcement Week which means it’s time for the annual Law Enforcement Cook-off.

10 teams, four categories. Law enforcement agencies battled it out for best ribs, wings, chicken, and the newest category, Boston butt. It’s for the 7th annual Law Enforcement Cook-off. Five people judged each category.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office took home the grand champion trophy. Their boss, Sheriff Reggie Rachals did judge two categories, but Rachals says he went into the contest without bias.

“One way I’m doing it is staying away from their food right now, from tasting it, so I won’t know their taste and that way I can have a fair judgment on the rest of them,” Rachals said.

The cook-off is part of law enforcement week which ends with a memorial service on Thursday.
