Small Business Office Director, Pinky Modeste not many of her small businesses are roofing companies
On a recent contracting bid put through the County, commissioner Gloria Gaines was surprised to see no local bids had been put forth.
Roofing contracts for two fire stations have been given to L.E. Schwartz and Son.
“The roofing contracts we approved today are contracts that I would expect local bidders to have some success on. And I just could not understand what happened. I don't know that there was anything wrong with the process, but it's certainly something I think is worth looking into,” Said Gaines.
Small Business Office Director Pinky Modeste says she emails, faxes, calls and mails out information to her small businesses.
However, she says not many of her small businesses are roofing companies.
