Belk held its Charity Day event Saturday

Shoppers at Belk got extra special savings early Saturday morning and helped out local charities at the same time!

From 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, shoppers could pay a five dollar admission fee and get extra savings on items in the store. That five dollar admission fee went to help out local charities such as the Southwest Georgia Cancer Coalition, Easter Seals and March of Dimes, among others.

“Well our charities that we help out are the charities that are within our community and they make up our families, it's our opportunity to help them and give back to their organization so that they can meet the demands of the community,” Said Belk manager, Rachel Rish.

They hold the charity day twice a year, once in May and again in November.

For more information on how your charity can participate or if you missed the event today and want to donate, you can contact Rachel Rish at Belk at 229-436-5741.
