Area law enforcement can be seen all weekend high above the Krispy Kreme sign in Albany raising money for Special Olympic athletes.

Georgia's 2009 “Cops on Doughnut Shops” event raised a record $112,000 for the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Georgia; this year, the participating officers hope to increase that number to $120,000.  Albany/Dougherty Law Enforcement raised over $13,000 of the $112,000 and plan to raise $15,000 this year.
