Car wreck backs up Highway 19

Multiple kids sent to the hospital with minor injuries

An afternoon automobile accident backed up Highway 19 in Lee County shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday.

Troopers say a blue Caravan heading south on US 19 rear-ended a red pickup truck after reportedly following too closely. Passengers from both vehicles including some children were sent to the hospital with minor injuries. Troopers say child restraint charges are pending.
