Dougherty County students took a trip back in time Tuesday morning.

A medieval reenactment group spent the morning with students in the Dougherty County gifted program.  The students in kindergarten through fifth grade have been studying medieval history. The students played medieval games, had a medieval feast, and learned some ye olde fighting moves.

“It lets them know that history doesn't have to be a bunch of dates and names. It can be fun, and it can be really informative if you enjoy it,” said medieval reenactor Megan Byrnes.

The group is part of the Society of Creative Anachronisms.
