Extended hours could be a security threat
Southwest Georgia Regional Airport
The Cross Landing eatery and bar at the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport feels it has been grounded on Saturday nights.
The restaurant wants extended hours... airport authorities say it's a security risk. Owners of the Cross Landing eatery want to stay open until midnight on Saturday's.
They feel they are losing money by closing when the last flight lands in the afternoon. However, airport authorities say they would incur more costs by adding another security guard to watch the airport as well as someone to man the parking lot. They also say terminal security is a major issue. The airport authority is going to investigate this request and possibly meet in two weeks to resolve the situation. Meanwhile, board members got an early look at proposed designs for the new terminal building.
It includes covered areas to protect passengers from bad weather.
