74-year-old Christine Welch lost one leg just above the knee and one just below the knee. Police say the injuries are a result of alleged abuse from 34-year-old Tasha Chambers and 55-year-old Royce Dillard, Jr.

A Moultrie woman who suffered severe abuse had surgery to amputate parts of her legs on Sunday.

74-year-old Christine Welch lost one leg just above the knee and one just below the knee. Police say the injuries are a result of abuse from 34-year-old Tasha Chambers and 55-year-old Royce Dillard, Jr. On Thursday police found Welch malnourished to 80 pounds with bedsores infested with maggots and gangrene in both feet. Police say all three lived together in Moultrie.

Dillard and Chambers are charged with cruelty to a person over 65. More charges are pending.
