Republican candidates running for various state seats could be found in Lee County Saturday afternoon at the Second Congressional barbecue meet and greet.
Candidates for governor, Jeff Chapman, Nathan Deal, Ray McBerry, and Austin Scott were there along with candidates for Insurance Commissioner and Agriculture Commissioner. Fox 31 news caught up with a few and asked what voters need to remember as they head to the polls.
“When they look at this race, they need to look at someone with experience, I’m a Mercer Law graduate, I’ve practiced law for 37 years, I’m pro life, pro second amendment,” said Senator Seth Harp, Insurance Commissioner candidate.
“Start working on some issues that really need to be addressed. Arson investigations, fraud investigations. All these are things people don't normally think about. They're thinking about health care now,” Said fellow Insurance Commissioner Candidate Harold Logsdon.
Agriculture Commissioner Candidate Gary Black said, “My campaign's about safe food, strong farms and responsible government, improving the food safety protocol, inspection protocols”.
The meet and greet was followed up by a forum inside the Lee County High auditorium.
