Graffiti found on side of MLK Center building

(AP) -- Maintenance workers at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center spent Wednesday cleaning graffiti off one of the buildings at the site, where the slain civil rights leader and his wife are buried.

King Center spokesman Steve Klein said no one knew about the blue and white paint on the side of Freedom Hall until the center received media calls about it.  Klein said it's the first time he can remember someone defacing the center, which is next door to historic Ebenezer Baptist Church where the slain civil rights leader preached.

The center was opened by King's widow, Coretta Scott King, after his assassination in 1968.
