(AP) -- Atlanta police say a 23-year-old man has been charged with killing a college student.

Police say 20-year-old Maxwell Fiandt was shot in the back of the head at the Pencil Factory apartments near downtown Atlanta on March 3. He was a sophomore at Georgia State University.

Otis Redmond with Atlanta police says Hector Marquez is being held at the Fulton County Jail in connection with the slaying.

Investigators have said Fiandt may have been struggling with at least two men when he was shot.

Police say Fiandt had guests over just before the shooting.
