Squad Commander, Chuck Mitchell says they are in great need of another ambulance

Dougherty County commissioners discussed the possibility of giving one of the County's surplus ambulances to the Albany-Dougherty Rescue Squad.

The squad would use the ambulance to store emergency medical supplies.  Squad Commander Chuck Mitchell says the Rescue Squad offers its services for free, and as such, they get requested to cover multiple events on weekends. They have one ambulance now, but a second would help keep up with the demand. Dougherty County School Police Chief Troy Conley was at Monday’s County Commission meeting to request the second ambulance.

The Commission will make it official at next Monday’s meeting.
