An Albany man files suit against two Albany police officers.

Alvin Young is suing Michael Cunningham and Bobby Leveston for battery, false arrest, false imprisonment, and for violations of his federal and state civil rights.  Young's attorney, Jim Finkelstein, tells Fox 31 News the lawsuit was filed this afternoon.  The suit is connected to an incident on July 22nd 2009 where Young claims he was beaten and arrested without probable cause at his Radium Springs Road home.  This after Young and his fiancé called the police to report a crime at the Harvey's located across the street from his home.  Young is seeking general damages of no less than $100,000, punitive damages of no less than $100,000, special damages for expenses and attorney's fees.

The Albany Police Department tells Fox 31 News they will not comment on pending litigation.
