State Sen. Lee Hawkins and Rep. Tom Graves announced Tuesday
ATLANTA -- Gov. Sonny Perdue has set April 27 for a special election to fill a pair of newly vacant legislative seats, reported the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
State Sen. Lee Hawkins and Rep. Tom Graves announced Tuesday they were resigning to run for Congress. The Republicans are both seeking the seat that had been held by U.S. Rep. Nathan Deal. Deal, also a Republican, quit to concentrate on his bid for governor. He represents the 9th congressional district in North Georgia.
