Albany police have arrested 56-year-old Monty Simpson and charged him with the murder of 51-year-old Beverly Williams, who was found dead in the Dollar Inn Motel on North Slappey Boulevard Monday night.
Detectives say Simpson has a history of domestic violence and had active special bonds to stay away from Williams. The Florida woman’s body was found in the motel room the two had been sharing for the past two months. Police say she was beaten to death. Williams’ body has been sent to the crime lab in Macon.
Simpson is charged with murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated stalking.
