Sheriff Reggie Rachals kicked off the meeting by donating $75,000 on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff Reggie Rachals says the Sheriff’s Office was able to give Lee County $75,000 after clearing a few bonds.

The board discussed many hot topics tonight including the 911 $50 service call fee charged to people who aren’t transported to the hospital.  The board discussed how to obtain fees from 50 delinquent accounts while keeping in mind that some people wouldn’t be able to pay the fee.

Other issues discussed include the sign ordinance, a new ambulance for Smithville, and a matching grant to improve the emergency operation center.
