Lee County administrators say they’ve seen an increase with prescription drug use among their students in high school grades.

Principal Kevin Dowling says the high school has had three incidents this year while the 9th grade academy has had seven. Authorities say a student would face a tribunal committee if caught with prescriptions that weren’t theirs. Teachers say the teens are getting the drugs from the medicine cabinets at home.
