A burst pipe caused a sink hole on 16th Avenue Sunday afternoon

Water is back on and a boil water advisory is over for those of you living near a sink hole in Albany.

A burst pipe caused a sink hole on 16th Avenue Sunday afternoon. The hole shut down part of the road in the 600 block, and because of the rain crews haven’t finished repairing the road. No water was actually contaminated, but Water, Gas, & Light issued a boil water advisory just in case.

“That’s standard operating procedure,” said Lori Farkas with W, G, & L. “These are federal guidelines and of course we’d rather be safe than sorry so we delivered gallons of water to 123 families.”

Crews will continue work on the sink hole Tuesday.
