Albany Tech unveils a high-tech “one-stop-shop” mobile admissions bus that will travel around Southwest Georgia
The new “admission-mobile” is essentially Albany Tech’s admissions office on wheels.
The bus is equipped with ten laptop stations where prospective students can learn about programs, take assessment tests, apply for admission, and register for classes.
The bus will travel to seven local counties in addition to visiting schools, businesses, or organizations that request its presence.
Dr. Anthony Parker, President of Albany Technical College, says the mobile unit will probably boost student enrollment numbers because it’s bringing the college to the community. “We realize that we have a responsibility in workforce development, and we’re here to meet that need. We need to get out in the community, educate them on what we can offer, and get people prepared for a new career” says Parker.
To schedule an appointment with the bus call the Albany Tech Admissions Office at 229-430-3520.
