Albany police say someone fatally shot 20-year-old LaShelton Stanford, of Flovilla, Georgia, at Nabs Tavern on Schilling Avenue
Albany police say a fight ended in a deadly shooting early Sunday morning and now they’re looking for four persons of interest.
Police say someone fatally shot 20-year-old LaShelton Stanford, of Flovilla, Georgia, at Nabs Tavern on Schilling Avenue. A security guard, 35-year-old George Ferguson III, was shot in the arm. Nabs Tavren is in the complex also known as Brick City and is off Turner Field Road. Police say a fight at the tavern spilled outside where Stanford was shot around 5:30 Sunday morning.
Police say they are looking for 19-year-old Jacory Butts, 20-year-old Henry Wallace, 22-year-old Lawrence Stephens, and 21-year-old Sean Frazier. Police were also looking for 31-year-old Jason Loving, but he has turned himself in. They are calling all five men “persons of interest.”
No word on why the fight started.
Stanford’s father Wilfred Foster says his son was visiting friends and family in Albany and that this was Stanford’s first trip to the area. Foster is asking for the public’s help finding Stanford’s killer.
"I can't get my son back, but this could be a wake up call to the citizens in Albany," Foster said.
This is the second shooting at Brick City since December 2009.
"All I'm asking is if anyone knows anything about what happened, please contact these people."
