Elderly says safety is their number one concern

As a part of Black History Month, Albany Police Chief John Proctor spoke to senior citizens about his past and the future of his department.

Proctor says he plans to incorporate more programs for seniors since they are more vulnerable. Area seniors agreed and had many questions for Proctor about crime, violence and Albany’s gang problem. Proctor stated that crime in Albany is down but his department is shorthanded and he is working hard to put the right people in the right positions.
