Southwest Georgia, "A hard to count area"

Albany City Commissioner Christopher Pike helped organize a ward three block party today.

The event was held to raise awareness for the 2010 census.  Pike says Southwest Georgia is a “hard to count area.”  He wanted to dispel rumors about what the census is truly about.  Pike also encouraged everyone to make sure census representatives are legit when you talk with them.

“They’re not asking about a lot of detailed pertinent information about your personal life.  Census people should have identification, identifying them as being with the census as well,” said Pike.

Pike says they will hold these types of block parties four times a year.
