Donations needed

Many Southwest Georgians have donated money and food to earthquake relief organizations and want to see their contributions arrive in Haiti as soon as possible.  Two Albany men are helping to make that happen.

Equinox Chemicals President Mark Grimaldi and Mission Change Albany’s David Blackwell are gearing up for a trip to help the victims in Haiti.   Both are excited about getting right to work and aren’t sure what to expect.  Fuel cost for a round trip to Haiti is about $1,500, so both organizations are taking monetary donations.

“We’re going to be taking supplies that were collected here in Albany directly into Haiti and we’ll also do some round trip airlift missions from the Bahamas into Haiti where they’ve already accumulated supplies there,” said Grimaldi.

They will also help in the evacuation process.  If you’d like to contribute monetary donations you can do so at missionchange.com or call David Blackwell at 229-886-1257.
