Albany attorney Phil Cannon spoke to the City Commission Tuesday about the upcoming Mardi Gras festivities.

The festival will be the first Saturday in March. Last year, 40,000 people roamed the streets of downtown Albany. Around thirteen countries are usually represented in the bike race that takes place that weekend. Cannon says the City should act like it's on display to the whole world.

Last year, the weekend-long festivities generated close to $2.5 million for the City.
