Officials ordered the evacuation of about 120 people before the leak was capped

(AP) -- Workers have capped a natural gas leak that closed busy Windy Hill Road in south Cobb County.

Officials ordered the evacuation of about 120 people before the leak was capped. Officials say the evacuation is over, but the usually busy street remains closed to traffic.

Residents forced out of their homes were housed at the Smyrna Community Center.  There is no estimate how long it will take to make repairs and reopen streets.
