Georgia's deep freeze is expected to get worse
(AP) -- Georgia's deep freeze is expected to get worse.
The National Weather Services says snow will blanket parts of Georgia starting Thursday afternoon. Peachtree City-based meteorologist Rob Handel says flakes will likely continue through midnight Thursday, dropping between half an inch and three inches of snow across northern parts of Georgia, before tapering off. Southern parts of the state, below LaGrange, will see mostly rain.
Handel blamed weather systems converging from the upper Midwest and the Gulf Coast for an arctic front that's contributed to the wintry weather.
Temperatures in the mid-30s are expected to continue across Georgia.
