Horse still recovering from act of cruelty
(AP) -- Authorities are investigating who critically injured a horse on a Fayette County farm by shooting arrows into the animal.
Fayette County sheriff's investigator Brent Rowan says a neighbor driving along the road next to the farm Sunday noticed
three arrows sticking out of the 8-year-old horse called Misty. He said the horse had arrows in its spine, face and neck. The horse underwent a four-hour surgery to remove the arrows and is still recovering. The vet told owner Nancy Padovano that the
horse could still have bone disease as a result. Padovano said she rescued Misty three years ago. She called the
shooting a "terrible act of cruelty."
The Georgia Outdoor Network is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest and conviction.
