Twin Oaks Elementary School third graders entertained their families with a play about diversity and acceptance…elf style

Third graders performed “The Elves’ Impersonator” musical for hundreds of parents this morning.

The play is about a new elf who dresses and talks like Elvis, or “Elfis”, and his path to acceptance among the other elves.

Third grade teacher Ray Harrelson says the students did a great job, and the play taught them a valuable life lesson as well.  “When the elves meet the new elf they ridicule him, they call him names, and they say he has funny hair.  It’s not until Santa and Mrs.. Claus have the reindeer help him out that the elves learn to be tolerant and understanding of differences” says Harrelson.

Students say the lesson learned from the play is that diversity is cool and that people should celebrate diversity and not make fun of someone because of differences.
