(AP) -- A drug suspect from Georgia has been sentenced to just over 10 years in prison for pointing a loaded gun out of a Buffalo hotel room as federal agents approached.
Authorities say 30-year-old Camara Griffin of Atlanta was in New York in January of 2007 to await a shipment of the club drug Ecstasy from Canada. When agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration arrived at the downtown Comfort Inn to investigate, he stuck a loaded gun out his door and pulled the trigger but the gun did not discharge. He later said he thought he was about to be robbed.
Griffin was sentenced to 121 months in prison for assaulting federal agents and unlawful possession of a firearm.
He's been in custody since his arrest.
