Freedom Singers sing at the Civil Rights Museum Saturday
The Freedom Singers sing at the Civil Rights Museum every second Saturday of the month
Those visiting the Civil Rights Museum were treated to a living part of history Saturday.
The Freedom Singers were at the Civil Rights Museum Saturday singing songs that were sung during the Civil Rights Movement. Freedom Singers would sing to raise awareness and money for the Movement. Rutha Harris was an original Freedom Singer.
“The purpose of this group was to raise funds for Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, SNIC for short, this group traveled 50,000 miles in nine months telling the story of the Movement through song,” Said Harris.
The Freedom Singers meet every second Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
