a lawsuit filed against the Marine Corps Logistics Base for racial discrimination is nearing settlement
A racial-discrimination lawsuit against the Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, along with the Marine Corps Logistics Command is nearing settlement.
In July 2002, a group of African-American employees of Marine Corps Logistics Base filed a civil action in the U.S. District Court alleging race discrimination in the selection of employees. It was found that there was no intentional discrimination, but that the base’s employment practices have an adverse effect on the minority.
A final hearing will be held February next year to determine if a proposed settlement agreement will be approved by the court.
