Results are in for the Dougherty County Schools Superintendent qualifications survey and more than 700 people weighed in on potential qualifications

An overwhelming majority, 84% of survey respondents, say it should be mandatory that the new superintendent have previous classroom teaching experience.  Another 73% of survey respondents think prior experience as a principle should also be mandatory.

School officials say they greatly appreciate the community’s response and their responses will be considered when selecting the next superintendent.

The Georgia School Board will begin reviewing the candidate applications next week.
