Police officers say that informing parents, they will be able to reduce crime as well as strengthen the family unit

Local law enforcement officials held a workshop in Albany today, educating parents on how to strengthen their family and their community.

Dougherty County Police, Sheriff’s Department, Marine Corps Police and Albany Police spoke to parents Wednesday about how to identify gangs and drugs, the dangers of sexting and putting personal information on web sites like Facebook and Myspace.

If you missed the workshop, there is another one planned for May 11th.
