26-year-old Tim Spriggs was arrested around 6:15 p.m. and was being questioned by Floyd County police
(AP) -- Floyd County police say a gunman suspected in two shootings that left one man dead and another injured has surrendered.
Capt. Mark Wallace said 26-year-old Tim Spriggs is accused of forcing his way into a home Tuesday evening and getting into an altercation with a man who was shot and killed. Floyd County Deputy Coroner Ernie Studard identified the victim as 46-year-old John Gregory Davis.
Wallace said Spriggs left through a wooded area before entering another house occupied by a man, two women and a small infant. The man at that home was shot and wounded. Wallace said the women and child were not injured but were still taken to the hospital for evaluation.
Spriggs was arrested around 6:15 p.m. and was being questioned by Floyd County police.
