Police are still investigating

Officials with the GBI in Sylvester have confirmed that a suspect is deceased after he led cops on a high speed chase.

According to GBI officials, David Peirce was speeding in Calhoun County and officials tried to pull him over. Agents say Peirce refused to stop, leading Arlington Police and Calhoun County Sheriff's deputies on a high speed chase. He then ended up crashing in a ditch where officials opened fire, killing him.

The incident is still under investigation.
