A special group of locals tries to debunk theories of spirits haunting Albany, sometimes unsuccessfully
Albany, Georgia, is a very historic town that has seen interesting characters come and go... some of whom, though, have never left so say the Dougherty County Paranormal Investigators.
The group investigates homes, businesses and historic buildings said to be haunted by spirits. The investigators say they always try to debunk the theories, but sometimes there is too much evidence to deny. While investigating the Thronateeska Heritage Center, a group distinctly heard a train coming towards them, even though no trains were running that night. According to the group, the Welcome Center hosts a group of ghosts, one of which is a Native American boy who likes to play in the elevator, causing it to open and close as well as travel from the basement to the second floor, even though no buttons have been pushed. Lisa Riddle with the Welcome Center says she's had the elevator checked out by maintenance, who said it was running just fine.
Stacy Folds with the Dougherty County Paranormal Investigators says while their job is to find the spirits, they are not able to make them leave.
