Albany police arrest three people for assaulting two officers.
Police say Officers LaShawnda Rozier and Jessica Lumpkin responded to a call about terroristic threats. Police say at least two men were harassing a Quick Stop gas station owner Hament Patel on Johnson Road. The officers caught up with one suspect, 18-year-old David Stephens, and while trying to arrest him, Stephens’ sister 23-year-old Kristian Brown hit one of the officers.
Police say that’s when the other used pepper spray on Brown and spray mist hit both officers in the eyes. Police say two marines helped get the situation under control.
Stephens’ 78-year-old grandmother Willie Mae Hill was also arrested for struggling with police. Hill and Brown are charged with two counts of felony obstruction. Hill is also charged with theft by taking and terroristic threats or acts. Stephens is charged with disorderly conduct.
