Tramaine Miller recovers after being shot in the face
(AP) -- An Atlanta police officer accused of shooting a man in the face while he was off-duty has been indicted by a Fulton County grand jury.
Reginald Fisher was charged Tuesday on two counts of aggravated assault, aggravated battery and violation of oath for allegedly shooting Tramaine Miller at a southeast Atlanta apartment building.
Authorities said Fisher was working an unauthorized off-duty security job when he encountered the victim on the night of May 5. Miller, who was unarmed, was shot in the lower left jaw.
The 27-year-old was not involved in any illegal activity, as Fisher suspected, but was at the apartment to help his quadriplegic aunt take her medicine.
