Police say Charlie Lee Smith went to the victim’s home uninvited, got into an argument, and struck her. The woman then ran to a neighbor’s home and called 911.
Investigators say Smith had been told to stay away from the victim when it was learned he had been continually harassing her both by telephone and in person.
