(AP) -- Clayton County police say DNA has helped solve a cold case involving the rape of a 13-year-old girl. police say DNA has helped solve a cold case involving the rape of a 13-year-old girl. 

The girl said in 1999 that she was raped by a man who entered her home wearing a black stocking over his head. There were no leads in the case for years. 

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Tuesday that the Georgia Bureau of Investigation matched a Georgia inmate's DNA with evidence collected at the rape scene.  

Police said 35-year-old Michael Bernard Heath aggravated child molestation, sodomy, sexual battery, burglary and false imprisonment. 

Det. Jerald Parks secured the warrants against Heath last week.  Officials said the suspect, who was 26 at the time of the rape, is in Valdosta State Prison on unrelated charges.
