The CDC says since September 1, over half of the H1N1 hospitalizations are people under 25-years-old

The CDC says the H1N1 virus is hospitalizing more and more people under 25-years-old.

Health officials say that statistic is the exact opposite for the seasonal flu. Southwest Georgia District Public Health Director Jacquelyn Grant says the difference is because younger people have lower immunity to disease. Grant says Georgians over 50 have been exposed to more sicknesses that could make them less susceptible to swine flu. The CDC says since September 1, over half of the H1N1 hospitalizations are people under 25-years-old.
