The City approves changes to consolidated charter
The Albany City Commission approves the changes that the Dougherty County Commission recommended to the consolidated charter.
Changes approved concern staggered terms for the commissioners. Odd-numbered commissioners will first have a two-year term followed by a four-year term in order to create a staggering of terms. The City will turn over a list of their recommendations to the County.
City employees will also see a raise in cost for their health plans. The kind of plan determines how much of an increase they are charged—anywhere between three and five dollars.
